Project description

For the realization of a production extension at the company headquarters in Herrieden Schüller Möbelwerk KG commissioned the W+P Gesellschaft für Projektrealisierung mbH with the project management for the entire measure, consisting of the production extension, a new parking garage, infrastructure measures as well as compliance with the specified nature and flood protection measures. 

The latter two items include the partial deconstruction of Rother Strasse, the construction of new earthen embankments, the alteration of the course of Ameisen- and Klingengraben, the creation of new compensatory areas, the expansion of the existing retention basins and the construction of a new roundabout.

Prior to this, W+P provided consulting services on the existing land use as well as a development planand, in interdisciplinary collaboration with its sister company PLAN FORWARD, created planning alternatives and assisted in achieving the designated goals. Taking into account all interests and objections, viable solutions were found between nature conservation, political, civil and commercial interests. The land use and development plan procedure was positively concluded in January 2019.

The halls of the new production halls comprise approx. 71,900 m² of gross floor area. In parallel to the expansion of the production, a new multi-story, above-ground parking garage directly adjacent to the main access road was built, as the area of the existing parking spaces at ground level is needed for the production expansion. The 5-story parking garage with 11 mezzanine levels has a gross floor area of approx. 52,000 m² and provides parking for 1870 cars, 108 motorcycles and 387 bicycles. The facade is formed by open steel sheet rhomboids with a rope attachment for greenery. 

In January 2019, the preparatory work for the parking garage and for the necessary infrastructure measures started. The production expansion was completed on schedule in September 2021. The parking garage was already completed on schedule in mid-2020.
