From 1984 to 1998, company founder Klaus Wolff carried out many major projects for one of the large German firms specializing in planning, construction management and project management. His clients included some of the most renowned university hospitals, department stores and banks along with leading names from other industries. 

In 1999, Klaus Wolff began his own entrepreneurial success story and established “W+P Gesellschaft für Projektabwicklung mbH” – today W+P Gesellschaft für Projektrealisierung mbH. Within a few years, the two-person founding-duo grew to a team of over 50 employees. Architecture was added to the portfolio when WBP Planungsgesellschaft mbH joined the WOLFF GRUPPE in 2000. That company was renamed Plan Forward GmbH in 2009. Staff, locations and services remained unchanged.

In March 2016, the family history of the company has opened a new chapter with Johannes Wolff joining WOLFF GRUPPE Holding. In close coordination, father and son pursue their vision and together realize construction projects in Germany and throughout Europe. As a family dual leadership, they preserve the traditional values of a family business that are so deeply anchored in the DNA of the WOLFF GRUPPE and at the same time lead the company into a stable, secure and successful future.

In addition, project-specific realization companies, such as the new building Museum Folkwang Essen GmbH or the interim building Pergamonmuseum Realisierungsgesellschaft mbh, concentrate know-how in project management, planning, consulting and property supervision with a customized range of services tailored specifically to the project.

Situation: Complexity of the construction business

Construction is no market for amateurs. Those who are not experts in the field often fail to understand its incredible complexity and depth – and thus lose money.

Every phase in a construction project has to be reliably planned and managed by experienced professionals. They must fully reflect the owner/ builder’s ultimate intentions, not only in terms of the here and now but also especially in its wider context and the future.

Too many owner/builders build too much or too little, too lavishly or too frugally. The floor plans and room arrangements they choose are often entirely unsuited to the prospective business processes. Every misstep eventually incurs high follow-up costs, mainly due to increased personnel requirements.

Project management must always include consulting services to optimize investment costs and minimize operating and process costs.

Situation: Reactive project management

Project management that relies on retroactive corrections and applies lagging Change Management solutions is far too expensive and therefore obsolete.

Project management is only effective when each step is properly planned in advance. The task is to anticipate problems early on and thus prevented them from occurring in the first place.  You shouldn’t hit an iceberg and then hope for a lifeboat to safe you, but prevent disaster by charting the right course from the beginning.
