New Construction multifunctional wooden houses as REFUGEE ACCOMMODATIONS IN Mülheim an der Ruhr
On the site of the former fairground of the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr, 17 wooden houses with living quarters and sanitary facilities for up to 600 people as well as an administration area were built in a very short time. The project was planned and realized by the architects of PLAN FORWARD in cooperation with its sister company W+P.
Compared with living containers or large tents, the construction with wood offers substantially better insulating characteristics regarding warmth and sound and thus increases the living quality and energy efficiency. Thanks to their flexible construction, the solid wooden houses can be used in a variety of ways and also guarantee the shortest possible production times.
In close coordination with the municipal client and the operators, DRK and "Die Johanniter", the WOLFF GRUPPE subsidiaries have thus implemented a pioneering concept.
