Project description
The Schüco Group, headquartered in Bielefeld, develops and sells system solutions for windows, doors and façades. W+P Gesellschaft für Projektrealisierung mbH assisted the client as a strategic consultant in the construction of the new, barrier-free "Welcome Forum" visitor center.
With a floor area of 4,654 m², the "Welcome Forum" represents the "heart of Schüco". It shows the current product portfolio and serves as the main meeting point for visitors.
The exhibition area was completely redesigned. A complete production line represents the machinery area. Thanks to large-scale window strips, the machinery is also be visible from the outside as a glass factory. An inviting café with terrace as well as flexible meeting-, sales- and presentation-rooms complete the new visitor center.
Only the skeleton of the former machine hall, which forms the basic framework of the prestigous project, remained when ground was broken in July 2019. As of the beginning of 2021, half of the building shell, including the roof, was already closed. The design by the Düsseldorf-based architecture firm „one fine day” was completed as scheduled in early 2022.
