Project description
The WOLFF GRUPPE has been commissioned with the construction of the new fire station in Crailsheim-Westgartshausen.
Situated at the southeastern edge of the village, the building integrates sensitively into the surrounding landscape while creating a clear civic presence. The compact timber-hybrid building combines operational, training, and community functions under one roof. A highly efficient layout ensures short response routes, while generous daylight, visual connections, and warm timber interiors create a welcoming environment for firefighters and visitors alike. Beyond its emergency services role, the fire station serves as a community hub for local events and social activities.Sustainability is embedded throughout the design. A prefabricated timber structure combined with reinforced concrete foundations minimizes environmental impact while ensuring durability and flexibility. Climate-resilient landscape design promotes biodiversity, water retention, and user comfort through native planting, shaded outdoor spaces, and permeable surfaces. The energy concept focuses on passive design, high-performance building envelopes, photovoltaic systems, and battery storage, enabling the building to achieve Efficiency House 40 standards and actively contribute to the local renewable energy supply.
WOLFF GRUPPE GmbH merges PLAN FORWARD GmbH, W+P Gesellschaft für Projektrealisierung mbH, and ARIQQA GmbH into a single legal entity under its umbrella, in accordance with Sections 2 and 20 of the German Transformation Act (Umwandlungsgesetz – UmwG).
