Project description
The top floor of the office building in downtown Stuttgart served as a cafeteria before the WOLFF GRUPPE and its subsidiaries PLAN FORWARD GmbH and W+P - Gesellschaft für Projektrealisierung mbH took up residence here for almost ten years.
The aim of the conversion was to preserve the perception of the generous volume of the space with its dominant steel structure. The workstations with their half-height, partially open shelves offer space with sufficient privacy, but also the possibility for cross-project communication between the teams.
The basic lighting is provided by an indirectly illuminated ceiling, which emphasizes the spatial impression, as well as by individual workplace lighting with floor lamps. The corridor zone is accentuated by textile pendant luminaires. To control acoustics in the open work zones, the closed surfaces of the furniture designed by the architects are covered with fabrics and backed with absorbent insulating materials.
Individual offices, meeting room and lounge are set into the space as glass cubes so as not to interrupt the spacious overall impression. The large glazed facades and the glass individual offices allow the entire office and also circulation area to be naturally lit.
The special atmosphere of the open office lies in the transparency of the space. In order to obtain the necessary privacy if required, slightly transparent curtains can be drawn in front of the glass surfaces.
