Project description

In Stuttgart’s Urbanstrasse WOLFF GRUPPE converted an unused commercial building into an attractive residential property with 19 residential units.

The building, in a central but quiet location, was supplemented with a new underground parking garage, creating a green oasis in the inner courtyard within the urban environment.

The courtyard area was enlarged by partial demolition of the middle building and now offers private open spaces for all first floor apartments and space for a sheltered playground. The rear building, thus exposed, was given a roof extension that conveniently provides access to the spacious rooftop terrace

Facing Urbanstraße, the existing monotonous office facade was replaced by a playful arrangement of bay windows as an extension of the living space.

For the successful metamorphosis from commercial to residential property, the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects awarded the architects of WOLFF GRUPPE the coveted "Beispielhaftes Bauen" 2019 award in the "Residential Construction" category.

WOLFF GRUPPE GmbH merges PLAN FORWARD GmbH, W+P Gesellschaft für Projektrealisierung mbH, and ARIQQA GmbH into a single legal entity under its umbrella, in accordance with Sections 2 and 20 of the German Transformation Act (Umwandlungsgesetz – UmwG). The business activities of the previously independent companies are fully continued within WOLFF GRUPPE GmbH under the business divisions PLANNING, MANAGING and CONSULTING.
