Project description

A new two-story building is being constructed as the new location for Stakerseite Primary School (GSK) in close proximity to the current building. WOLFF GRUPPE is responsible for the overall planning of the project.

The new building is being built on a previously unused sports field, located near the existing school site next to the city park. The interior of the building is clearly organized and designed to meet the needs of its various functional areas. The two-story foyer serves as the central gathering point. A spacious seating staircase provides the primary connection to the upper floor.

All functional areas of the school, including learning zones (clusters), community spaces, and administration, are directly accessible from the foyer. Foldable walls, such as those between the music room and the cafeteria, allow for flexible space usage. In addition to school functions, the foyer can also accommodate events with up to 600 guests.

The teaching areas, divided by grade levels, and the respective after-school rooms are organized around a central forum—a flexible, open learning landscape. Group and after-school rooms are equipped with kitchenette areas and can be used for various purposes.

The central courtyard will feature attractive play options and will be designed as a small wilderness area. New plantings along the adjacent city park will frame the area with greenery. An idyllic cafeteria garden will offer students the opportunity to enjoy lunch outdoors in good weather. A covered small sports field is also planned for the outdoor area.

The concept for a climate-conscious and future-oriented outdoor design is reinforced by the intentional use of climate-appropriate plants. To promote sustainable energy production, a photovoltaic system will be installed on the building’s roof. The QNG (DGNB) certification underscores the commitment to sustainability.
