For the factory premises of the market leader for office swivel chairs, which had grown over decades, PLAN FORWARD GmbH initially drew up a new master plan. In the first construction phase, existing buildings and parts of buildings were generously reconstructed and restructured to meet the company’s changed conditions as well as the requirements for a new structural appearance of the company.
A special feature of the office section is the air space that extends over three floors after the conversion and refurbishment. After removing part of the massive false ceilings, the interior areas are now naturally lighted and ventilated. From above, this area can be controlled via louvers with different lighting scenarios. The new office spaces were kept largely transparent to the corridors and circulation areas. Cooling ceilings fed by the company's own well water were integrated into the office areas.
Throughout the renovation, emphasis was placed on a sustainable construction method, which aimed at an energetic refurbishment of the buildings and the use of high-quality, biologically acceptable building materials.
The conversion and refurbishment measures also included the canteen for a total of 500 employees working in two shifts, which also includes a spacious cafeteria for daytime catering.
The lighting in the room, the use of light woods and a variety of plants in the interior and exterior create an inviting atmosphere for the company's employees.
